Blogging light

I’ve not blogged much lately. Some say it’s because I’ve not had anything exciting to talk about, others just think I’ve been lazy. I’ve recently purchased an iPhone, along with Wordpress and Twitter applications which should result in a lot more updates from me! If you’re not already following me on Twitter, you should! You’ll be notified of all the latest blog entries as well as the exciting cut and thrust of my day to day life.

Millionaire ‘exploited’ by Google

Pete Waterman whom built his fortune on record collections, is apparently being exploited. The next two paragraphs from the Telegraph article, may well be the best you’ll read all year:

The 62-year-old said the Rick Astley classic Never Gonna Give You Up, which he co-wrote and which was the subject of a YouTube craze last year, had earned him just £11 from Google, despite being viewed 154 million times.

Waterman, whose fortune was estimated at £47 million by The Times in 2004, compared this treatment to the “exploitation” of migrant workers in the Middle East.

In his own words..

“Panorama did a documentary on the exploitation of foreign workers in Dubai,” he said.

“I feel like one of those workers, because I earned less for a year’s work off Google or YouTube than they did off the Bahrain government.”

Could the man be more out of touch?
