About

I’m a liberal conservative who believes in freedom at the heart of any democracy. I believe competition creates employment, wealth of the nation, and is far superior to state or private monopolies at doing so. Currently I study Politics at the University of Hull, and this blog intends to air my musings.

only joking Andrew – I’m ever so slightly left of centre. I came upon your site while searching McBride. On that subject – and further to my previous comment re McBride – and I dont wish to seem partisan here but – today the Tories are demanding a personal apology from Browne for McBrides iniquity. In doing so – are they not merely seeking to discredit the Other sde in the same way as McBride did? I mean to say – which is the greater motivation for the Tories in asking for a Browne apology – to discredit Labour or to serve The Glorious Public Interest? Slimesville wil out lol

I think the main difference is that McBride and Draper (with perhaps Browns knowledge), were going to attempt an undercover smear campaign, based on completely false accusations. They were going to do so anonymously from this new blog ‘Red Rag’. When Conservatives are calling on Brown to apologise, they do so publicly, and thus everyone can see where they’re coming from.

I’m glad you found my blog, I do hope you come back and read future articles. Although I may have to consider removing the comment section from this page or it may get confusing!

Found you whilst searching for details about the mcbride shenanigans…… Whilst deploring what they did I think DC and his team should spend their time on something more positive than a SHOCK exposure of how filthy this current mob are…..demanding personal apologies etc; not exactly a shock is it really, so what does it achieve?

Hi Banjo. I’ve just written a blog about this at http://www.andrewbarrett.org.uk/2009/04/14/mcbride-smeargate-e-mails-final-nail-in-the-coffin/ I agree that Cameron and the Conservatives should now go out, and show the country a positive vision of what they will achieve, rather than winning because of the governments bad record. I hope you come back if you like what you read here.
