Google+ How to Invite or be Invited (Working)
Google+ is fantastic but unfortunately Google have halted invites to Google+ citing capacity reasons. Luckily you can still join the service, it’s just rather complex. You can join even if you don’t have a Gmail account.
The Old Method
The original workaround involved somebody with a Google+ account simply sharing something with your e-mail address on Google+. You would then receive an e-mail informing you with a link to ‘Learn more about Google+’ at which point you were usually able to join the service. This method is very touch and go as the e-mails are either not being received or are severely delayed, depending on which e-mail provider you use. Gmail itself appears to be one of the slowest.
The New Method
Throw away e-mail accounts from Gurrillamail appear to be receiving the invites straight away. You use a throwaway e-mail account to receive the original e-mail, then use your Gmail account to sign up with the link.
1. Go to http://www.guerrillamail.com/. You’ll automatically be assigned an e-mail address. Click copy to clipboard.
2. Keep the Gurrillamail tab or window open.
3. Ask somebody with a Google+ account to use the old method above using the Guerrillamail e-mail address that you paste to them. If you know me then Facebook me your throwaway e-mail address and I’ll send you an invite. Alternatively if you’ve just come across this post and don’t know me then I can be contacted via Twitter.
4. Go back to the Gurrillamail tab/window. An invite should drop into your inbox there.
5. In the e-mail click ‘Learn more about Google+’ and you should be able to join up using your Gmail account or if you don’t have a Google Account you can create one.
