Browns Borrowing Highest Since 1946

It has emerged that borrowing in the 3 months to June soared to £24.4billion. The biggest since 1946 when huge amounts were borrowed to rebuild after the Second World War. Although not just this, because the whole of the welfare state was also created around this time under Clemant Attlee. This included nationalisation of many industries and a creation of the National Health Service, free at point of use to anybody.

Just how has borrowing got as high as in 1946? We have just had 16 years of economic growth, not a World War. Where exactly is this money going?

This chancellor has taken us all for a ride when the times were good, he saved nothing for the rainy days to come.

It’s time for some prudence. We need to live within our means.
